Google Chrome supports “Do not track” option

Google has recently updated their web browser that is Chrome, which has been widely used by Windows, Mac and Linux computers to support the “Do not track” option. It was said that Chrome, was the last major browser to support the feature because it relies more likely on a third-party extension.

What is Do Not Track?

Do Not Track is a technology and policy proposal that enables users to opt out of tracking by websites they do not visit, including analytics services, advertising networks, and social platforms. At present few of these third parties offer a reliable tracking opt out, and tools for blocking them are neither user-friendly nor comprehensive. Much like the popular Do Not Call registry, Do Not Track provides users with a single, simple, persistent choice to opt out of third-party web tracking.

In short, it actually helps you to protect your online privacy, which is Chrome’s new added feature. And also, it may not assure you that this option will protect you from websites that ignores the “Do Not Track” request, but then again, it is a small way of protecting your personal details online.

How to enable it?
First, you must download the latest version of Chrome.

Step 1: Click the drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner then choose Settings

Step 2: You will be directed to Chrome Settings Page. Then click,  Show Advanced Settings

Step 3: Under the Privacy heading, check the box having a label Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic (Click the image to enlarge)
